Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has, on Friday evening, provided a fitness update on his squad.

Villa test

The Foxes are of course set to return to action in a little under 48 hours’ time.

After stuttering to a 2-2 stalemate with Southampton in midweek, Rodgers and co. will make the trip to Villa Park, in search of a bounce-back result up against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.

Actually securing such a victory, though, will likely prove considerably easier said than done.

This comes with Villa having looked vastly improved over recent weeks, owing to the dismissal of Dean Smith, and subsequent arrival of the aforementioned Gerrard.

After rattling off back-to-back wins over Brighton and Crystal Palace, the Villans, last time out, were unlucky to come away from a meeting with Premier League champions Manchester City without at least a share of the spoils.

Maddison in/Tielemans out

As such, it goes without saying that Brendan Rodgers will be hopeful of having as many of his key performers as possible fit and available to feature from the off on Sunday evening.

Two such players looking likely to miss out, however, come in the form of Youri Tielemans and James Justin.

Speaking in a press conference this afternoon, Rodgers confirmed that ‘it might be too soon’ for the midfielder and defender, both of whom have spent time on the sidelines of late:

The latest word on James Maddison, on the other hand, proved of a more positive nature, with the Leicester boss having assured that his in-form creator will be ready to go from the off versus Villa:
