Pedri wins Kopa Trophy

The 2021 Ballon d’Or ceremony took place earlier this week.

The award itself was, of course, won by PSG and Argentina star Lionel Messi for a record 7th time.

However, it was not just the Ballon d’Or that was handed out in Paris on Monday.

Elsewhere, the Kopa Trophy – the prize for the best under-21 player – was also given out.

That award was, not too surprisingly, handed to Pedri, who had a stellar Euro 2020 with Spain and has been one of the very few positives at Barcelona this year.

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka voted for by Brazilian legends

Though Pedri won the award, there were three English players in the top-10.

These were Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham who finished 2nd, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood who finished 5th and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka who finished 6th.

Saka may have finished the lowest of the three Englishman, but the Arsenal man has still earned a ringing endorsement from two legends of the game.

As reported by, both Ronaldinho and Rivaldo selected Bukayo Saka ahead of Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood.
