Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria, has ordered the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar to appear before the red chamber of the National Assembly.

The judge, who on Tuesday ordered Umar to appear before the Senate, said the directive became imperative to allow Umar to face his probe over alleged public misconduct.

Justice Ekwo held that the CCT Chairman is answerable to the Senate on moral standards and conduct as a public officer administering the law.

Justice court stated that Umar’s suit seeking to stop his probe by the Senate lacked merit and was consequently dismissed.
